At Totum, our approach to chiropractic is unique. Patients are involved in an active rehabilitation model where exercise is a primary modality. If you change the underlying cause of the issue, you can produce long term success.

What can you expect when you see a Chiropractor at Totum?
-Exceptional, multi-faceted experts using evidence-based techniques
-20–40 minute appointments
-Sessions where you are with the Chiropractor the entire time. Maximal therapist time = reduced overall treatment time
-Treatment plans of 5-8 sessions compared to ongoing maintenance plans

Areas we excel at:
-Sports related injuries
-Chronic work/office related discomfort
-Post-surgical treatment and re-conditioning
-Expedited return to normal activity

All treatment techniques used by Totum chiropractors start and end with movement. We spend a significant portion of our time evaluating faulty movement patterns and then either treating or training the patient to improve these movement patterns. Our goal with this type of chiropractic therapy is to reduce pain, but also to ensure that the injury does not re-occur after you leave.

Other modalities include:
ART®
Functional Range Conditioning
Acupuncture

We offer chiropractic at multiple downtown locations to ensure we have a chiropractor near you: in Rosedale, on Bay Street, at King West at Spadina, and on Mount Pleasant in Lawrence Park.

Dr. Keenan is a Canadian-trained chiropractor and tennis player with a special interest in treating sports injuries. His mission is to deliver the highest quality of evidence-based care in order to help his patients optimize health, prevent injury, and relieve pain. Dr. Keenan obtained his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at McMaster University and his Doctor of Chiropractic degree at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC).

His interest in sports injuries stems from his background in elite-level tennis. Over the course of his athletic endeavors, he suffered his fair share of sports-related injuries. The search for solutions led him down a path of sports medicine, manual therapy, rehabilitation, and ultimately a career in chiropractic. His treatment style is based on a combination of soft tissue work, exercise prescription, joint manipulation, and acupuncture.

Dr. Keenan first picked up a tennis racquet at the age of 9. Since then, he has played nationally and internationally, competing in tournaments such as the Canadian Junior National Championships and the Junior Orange Bowl International Tennis Championship. As his junior tennis career came to a close, he was recruited for athletic scholarship by several division 1 NCAA schools. Ultimately, he opted to remain in Canada to focus on academics. In addition to competing, Dr. Keenan has spent many years teaching tennis as a professional at various premier clubs in Ontario including the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club and Cutten Fields in Guelph. He has also served as a hitting partner for touring ATP and WTA professionals and internationally ranked juniors.

Dr. Keenan continues to be immersed in tennis, representing Canada in the International Club (IC) Tennis League, and competing in the Mayfair Toronto Pro League (MTPL) as well as the InterCounty Tennis Association.

He is excited to be a part of your journey to health and hopes to meet you soon!
